NAPLES, Fla. (TND) — A young woman was arrested after she allegedly jumped off a pier and into the ocean.
The 20-year-old's escape happened at the Naples Pier after she and a 23-year-old man were caught having sex, according to authorities.
On Memorial Day, a Naples police officer responded to the pier in response to calls about a man and woman having sex - one of those calls was from a mother whose children witnessed the alleged act.
The police officer noted in his report the two were in an area past a locked gate, which had "no trespassing" signage.
According to the officer, the two were engaging in sexual intercourse when he made his way to the end of the pier.
He added in his report that he instructed the two, who looked "disheveled," to get dressed.
Once the woman adjusted her swimsuit to cover herself she then went to the edge of the pier.
I instructed her not to jump from the pier but she did, in attempt to evade me, and began to swim northeast towards the beach.The couple was identified as Alyssia Razo and Zadok Westfield.
Razo was eventually picked up by beach patrol when she got out of the water.
Westfield, who was naked, remained at the pier. He told the police officer he and Razo swam to the end of pier and climbed to the top to jump off, but had sex before that ever happened.
Both were detained and booked.
A witness stated she and four children, ages 7, 11, 12 and 15, noticed the couple having sex on the pier and saw the woman jump into the water.
The witness told police the children were asking questions about what the woman and man were doing.
Razo is facing charges of trespassing, disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. Westfield was charged with disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.
