Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — State police say a Huntingdon County man is behind bars following an investigation into accusations that he inappropriately touched a young girl over multiple years.
Police say in late January, the girl reported to authorities that 48-year-old Duane Somers, of Oneida Township, had been molesting her for approximately four or five years.
Police say the alleged assaults took place in both Huntingdon and Mifflin counties, with the latest incident occurring on January 23rd of this year.
Troopers say when they questioned Somers, he initially denied the accusations, but police say he later changed his story and stated that he may have accidentally touched the girl.
According to online court records, Somers has been charged with multiple offenses, including felony counts for unlawful contact with a minor and aggravated indecent assault of a child.
He is being housed in the Huntingdon County Jail on $250,000 bail.
