CLEARFIELD - A skating event will take place this weekend to help the family of a Clearfield County man who was recently found dead.
The benefit is to help defer costs for the family of Chase Anderson, 19, of Curwensville. It will take place Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Skate Station on South Second Street in Clearfield.
"He was a sweet young boy, full of life, full of energy and he touched everybody's heart," said Anderson's aunt, Holly Knoll.
Admission to the benefit skate is by donation. A 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction and bake sale will also take place.
The owner of the Skate Station, Jeannie Peoples, said she wanted to help Anderson's family because he has a special place in her heart.
"He use to come here quite a bit a few years ago with his friends and family," Peoples said.
Authorities found Anderson's body nearly two weeks ago in a wooded area near Curwensville.
State police in Clearfield are still investigating his death.
"The family would like to thank the community, family and friends for all getting together to host this benefit," Knoll said. "We greatly appreciate the support we have in our community during this time."
A benefit dance will also take place for Anderson's family on Sept. 30 from 8-11 p.m. at the Hyde Fire Hall. Admission is $3.
